The Transport Workers Union will today meet the Smorgon ARC company in Western Australia
after what it calls the needless death of a truck driver.

State secretary JIM MCGIVERON says the accident's horrific and had been preventable.

But he says operators aren't enforcing safety standards in the trucking industry and
drivers don't receive adequate safety education.

The truck driver died trapped underneath his truck on a building site in Dawesville.
