State allocates $663K to airports in Central Pa.

Public-use airports in Central Pennsylvania will receive nearly 13 percent of the $5.2 million state transportation officials have allocated to fund safety and maintenance projects statewide.

The biggest winners locally are Harrisburg International Airport, Lower Swatara Township, which is slated to receive $272,118, and Carlisle Airport, South Middleton Township, which will get $204,000.

Other airports receiving state funds are, in descending order: Smoketown Airport, Smoketown, $76,500; Lancaster Airport, Manheim Township, $61,732; and Capital City Airport, Fairview Township, $48,225.
